  • Securing Masks for Safehaven (Donate)

The compassionate and hard working staff at Safehaven continue to work to serve individuals with complex care needs. While they are taking every precaution available to them, any non-remote workplace brings its own risks. Though a generous donation from Great Gulf, I was pleased to be able to secure 100 masks for the Safehaven staff. I want to thank Great Gulf and Safehaven for all of their efforts to keep our community safe.

  • COVID-19 - April 23 Update

Today we remembered the victims of the Yonge Street van attack, which happened two years ago. One of the victims, Anne Marie D’Amico, grew up in and was friends with many in our community. Last year, to honour her memory the D’Amico family and I unveiled the new Santa Chiara Parkette sign, which featured her name in memoriam. To prevent future violence against women, the D’Amico family created The D’Amico Foundation. Please consider donating if you can. Today is the...

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 public health emergency, our local non-profit community organizations have played even a more critical role in serving some of the most vulnerable in our communities. This funding will help to make sure that rapid relief reaches those that need it the most. COVID-19 is not impacting everyone in the same way. Sadly, we see the alarming...
