Hydro On Transformer Transport on October 6, 2018

On October 6, beginning at 7 a.m., Hydro One will transport a critical transformer unit from Hydro One’s Bridgman Transformer Station (TS), located at 451 Davenport Road to John TS, located at 241 Wellington Street W. In order to ensure a reliable supply of power to local customers, Hydro One is replacing equipment at John TS which is nearing its end of life, including this unit.

The delivery of the new transformer will follow the route outlined on this map.

To accommodate the transportation of this equipment on a wide bed truck, intermittent rolling road closures will be in effect to allow the transformer to safely pass through neighbourhoods. Hydro One crews will also lift overhead utility lines, TTC cable lines, hydro wires and other infrastructure, where required, to allow the transformer to safely travel the route. Once the transformer has passed through each section of road, it will be re-opened for vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Traffic control measures, including a police escort, and appropriate signage will be in place to ensure public safety.

Toronto Hydro will make best efforts to minimize disruption to the neighbourhood.
