Jane’s Walks in our Bloorcourt community and a party too!

This is going to be great! Mark your calendar for Saturday May 2nd and Sunday May 3rd for two unique and informative Jane’s Walks as part of the community “Rosina’s Shopkeeper’s Project.”

And what walk is complete without a party?

On Saturday, join an expert stroll along Bloor that will bring the architectural background into the spotlight and transform the mundane to the spectacular. This diverse strip of Bloor St. (Christie Pits to Dufferin) is considered the best preserved mile of architectural streetscapes of all of Bloor-Danforth (with Alec Keefer).

Sunday, hear first hand from shop keepers along Bloor about their experiences and how our community has developed over the years. These are the grocers who fed us, the hairdressers who cut our hair and the business owners who have helped define and build our neighbourhood. An oral first-hand history of life before Walmart.

And join us Saturday night for a community party celebrating Bloor shopkeepers, hosted by Dave Bidini with local musicians and entertainers at St. Micheal’s the Archangel Church (across the street from the Ossington station Delaware exit.

You will learn things about our neighbourhood you never knew, you will meet your neighbours and shopkeepers and you will definitely have fun. Mark the date now: Saturday May 2nd and Sunday May 3rd at 2:00 pm for the Walks, May 2nd at 7:00 for the Party.

The Rosina Shopkeeper Project is a partnership between Working Women Community Centre, Bloorcourt BIA, City of Toronto, Toronto Public Library and Archives, Councillors Ana Bailao and Mike Layton, MP Andrew Cash, Toronto Architectural Conservancy, countless residents and shopkeepers. Proudly sponsored by Curated Properties.
